Since there are stupid people who want to waste their money, I guess PCGS figured it would be okay. Just think of all the people who come here thinking that itsy-bitsy die cracks & die breaks are worth money. Wait until PCGS jumps on that! Chris
I've said this before that I think it is virtually impossible to get a coin minted for circulation that is perfect. The vast majority of the imperfections are just that - imperfections.
I hadn't seen that 'Minor Variety' tag. I assume it's for the other, numerous doubled dies that aren't listed somewhere. By putting 'minor variety' on the label, they don't have to include it in Registry Sets, or even give it it's own #.
Never thought to ask before ~ Can PCGS or other top tier~ obtain coins on their own account , grade, slab , and wholesale to others? It would sure help boost the balance sheets.
So far, 44 have been graded 66 . There's, 144 been graded with higher grades . https://www.pcgs.com/cert/36497809
Yes but that isn't with the minor error attribution. That is just MS designation. I couldn't find any of those auctions that say anything about a DDO.
No reference #, probably because it's a minor doubled die, and not one of the noted or recognized DD's.
I don't know, as I have nothing to do with Die Varieties for PCGS. That "minor variety' tag at the top is the first I've ever seen....... You can contact PCGS customer service and ask, based on the coin pictured "Minor Variety" if they will still do your coins like that...... ....not in my area, I'm sorry to say.....
