So I have this certificate and there is a blue line between the "T" and the "E" in UNITED. I need someone to explain what it is and what caused it. I assume it is part of the blue dye for the seal on the note but not sure. Would it be considered an error ? Thank's for the help. DSC00202.JPG DSC00202 (2).JPG

Just an opinion but that mark may have been produced by a sloppy head cashier marking the band that wrapped the currency stack. It's in the same general area where the strap would be located.

I would have thought that too, but when you look at other notes as in this one you will see that in the bill itself there are small threads that are in many notes, this one seems more prominent. So I wonder if the dye was just too thick when applied and it caused the line. DSC00205.JPG DSC00205 (2).JPG

That's a real reach, unfortunately. I have never heard of dye from the threads in the paper ending up in a line on a note. Unfortunately I think it's as salty says, some accidental mark on the note, at the bank or otherwise.

Thanks for the input, I thought it could be a question bantered around. No one ever thought coins could have errors so that is where VAM's came from. Some bills have errors I thought this could have been one .

Looks like blue ink ball point pen. Not an error.

    Okay here's a logical question...

How would you know you were fooled if you were fooled?

ok let me rephrase, as far as I know I have never been fooled. The money I handle goes through 2 other people then goes to the bank and in all the years I've worked with money I have never had one come back counterfeit.
