I searched through $10 of nickels and amazingly i found a 1946 p and a 1947 s!! BUT... My mother spent it on a parking meter in Annapolis, MD. (sigh) My mother: "Well, they didn't look like 'strange' or anything."
plus my mother lost my 1831 large cent!! ( sigh) my Mother: "well, i do recall 'organizing parts of your collection and picking up a piece of rusty copper and putting it in the coinstar machine with spare change." of course, she did not check the reject bin.
Sorry to hear that, I also have recently been coin roll searching nickles. Out of 20.00 worth of nickles I found a: 1940 s 1946 nmm and a 1941. In a roll of dimes i found a 1962-d dime If I can find them I'm betting you'll be in luck again soon too.
well i recently found a 1981 S SBA mint set only issue in a vending machine in BU++++... a 1943D and a 1963D quarters in one roll... and a 1966 Korean 1 won ( a key to the series) in a pile of coins my grandpa gave to me...
well i can't search American rolls since im in Korea ( South) now... oh well i can still search Ebay rolls ( haha)
I lived in Korea in 2008 as a DOD contractor. I worked at Camp Carroll in Waegwan not far from Camp Walker in Daegu.
Growing up I had a grandmother that went out of her way to drive me all over town to haunt coin shops and banks - and a mother that went out of her way to loot my collection to spend on herself.
Never tell a woman that she is not allowed to do something. She will do it just because. Instead, hide those you don't want her to touch, and tell her not to touch the change jar on your nightstand (which holds all the coins you have already searched). Chris
Yeah, and the best thing about Ebay rolls, they come pre-searched, so you just need to buy them and spend them
My parents haven't ever touched my coins before but they've used threats to my coins to wake me up before.
Ebay rolls are especially tempting when they show the roll as having a VDB as an ender and you think there's a chance for an S VDB.
