Stainless! Good to have you back dude! Of course the old "pics would help" but I'm betting it's most likely a fake. Genuine Continental Currency goes for some pretty serious cash. clembo
Welcome back, Stainless. I was wondering where you got off to. I can't help you on the Continental Currency. That's way out of my area of expertise.

Welcome back! Missed seeing ya around, lol. Best of luck with the coin, I look forward to seeing pics. Phoenix
its made of pewter currency is spelled: C U R E N C Y doesnt have no profit sign has a markin on the side like someone tried to engrave it i get: H H H (next letter looks like an anchor) then, K E R looks excactly like what it should look like if it was real ALSO: how would he go about insuring this to send it in to a grading company to see if its real Thanks in advance, stainless
There are in fact varieties of this that are spelled "Curency" rather than "Currency." (There's even one variety that spells it "Currencey.") It's not a misspelling; it's just that spelling wasn't fully standardized at the time, and at the time, several spellings were considered acceptable. Some of these were in fact made in pewter. Er don't have any idea what you mean by "profit sign"? You have any pics? I'm still leaning towards this being a reproduction but pics would help. Where and when did you friend get it? That would help too. As for insuring this that's simple enough to do at the Post Office, just ask them. It's actually fairly cheap. I'd want to be at least 90% sure it's real though before you spend money on the grading fee.
