Ok. So I posted this in another thread, but I thought perhaps it deserved it's own. I believe this is listed as HK-606. It has a fair amount of damage, but as an R6 (13-30 known) it seems rare. I'm not sure of value, should I send it to a TPG? I'm hoping some of the experts can weigh in. I got this peice for nothing, and it fits perfectly with our Rhode Island and collection. Roger Williams is my wife and childrens' 15th and 16th Great Grandfather, respectively .
cool family history, dont know if a TPG would even grade that, with all the damage, if that was my history i'd hunt for a nicer example, already graded if possible...
A so- called dollar is a token or medal, made for an anniversary of a state or event. The term so-called dollar is because they were made to be about the size of a Silver dollar. the bigger value is in which metals they were made. Hope that makes sense. I found a web when looking up a few medals I have bought. www.socalleddollar.com
So I found this with a bunch of coins that were brought back from Europe in WW2 by my wife's Grandfather. We just started to go through them. This so-called dollar was the gem so far.
HK606 appears to be correct - 605 was bronze, 606 was white metal. Lookslike they were struck without a hole, so yours has been holed, bent, and otherwise damages around the rim, and is worn - I would just get an AirTire for it.
