I haven't searched in depth. But I have had my eyes trained on my quarters since the mint announced the West Point quarters were randomly dispersed. I had long ago given up hope and darned if old @furryfrog02 didn't bless me with some West Point quarters, God bless him..... I just picked up a bag of potato chips next door and look here at what the young lady just handed me in my change.
Ha now you've gotta start a new set lol. Good luck finding the 2020's. I have had no luck. Still trying to find a set for me and the kiddos. hopefully they will start flowing once I can get access to a dump bank.
Glad you found one Randy. It's always exciting. I've only found one as only recycled coins are in my area.
Got out today for the first time in about 5 weeks and bought $200 MWR quarters from my drive through bank. This branch has a coin counting machine in the back, so I was pretty much assured of getting MWRs vs CWRs. By the way, a different bank of mine with a drive through that is separated from the main lobby, once told me that pretty much all they sell are MWRs from the drive through. Whereas, the lobby sells CWRs preferentially to regular customers when they get them. Something having to do with keeping plenty of MWRs on hand for commercial customers. They’re willing to sell the MWRs to me so I’m happy. Not thinking I will find any 2020 Ws as we get the new issues later in our small city, but maybe some holdover 2019 Ws.
Translation: "You're a great guy, Randy........but you're on your own assembling this year's "W" set, old pal." A very nice gesture last year indeed, Furry. But with that young lady feeding Randy both potato chips and "W" quarters, I don't think Randy has to worry about completing this year's set.
Pasadena, CA I haven't used cash (therefore no change) in two months. Nothing like a virus to force society to go cashless.
"The little old corgi from Pasadena" Do you remember Greiger's, a gem and minerals shop right at the end of the 110 freeway?
Based on this story... https://www.pasadenastarnews.com/2010/05/23/history-on-parade-griegers-was-lapidary-legend/ ...it closed ("faded away") before I moved here. There's a pharmacy at the 900 Arroyo address now. A block north of the end of the 110 - good memory.
MWR - Machine Wrapped Roll (usually by a coin processor such as Brinks or Loomis, etc.) CWR - Customer Wrapped Roll
Nice find! I've never seen a W quarter for real. So if I took my punch set and started punching W's into regular quarters, would it be wrong?
