Wasn't on the hunt for this Antoninianus but saw it was going pretty cheap and decided to snack on it. The second photo is my older one. Caracalla (198 - 217 A.D.) @Mat ... doooooooaaaaahhhh PLUTO!!! That is always harder to find for me. Nice! The reverse on your recent find is great! Shield really stands out.
@Mat - I like the Venus Victrix reverse on your first coin. Here's a Caracalla denarius with a lot going on on the reverse: Caracalla AD 211-217. Rome AR Denarius Struck AD 205 Obv: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate and draped bust right Rev: PONTIF TR P VIII COS II, Salus seated left, feeding from a patera, a serpent coiled around an altar Although he was only ~17 in 205, and from the coin above had not mastered yet the sneer or the scruffy beard, he had already manged to have his father in law executed for treason and banished his wife, Plautilla, whom he had been forced to marry at 14.
Nice portrait and perfect centering. No doubt you got it for a steal, since that's what you do! Here's my version of your older one.
