A friend of mine inherited a few coins from his relative. He is no coin expert, but he did know about the difference between the small motto and the large motto, and he said that he had one of each, and some old dime of unknown date. He said the small motto was in "good shape" but that could be anywhere to a well circulated piece to an MS 70. If the coin is indeed in AU or better condition, would it be worth it to get it slabbed? From what I've been able to gather a nice one can be a four figure coin. I will pass judgment until I have the coin in my hand, but this could turn out to be a nice windfall. He wants me to sell the coins and split the profits. I may end up just selling the small date and keeping the other two as part of my half of the profits.

As soon as I have pictures I'll be sure to post them here. He's supposed to put them in the mail tomorrow, but he's not really reliable so it may be a while.

I would say it's worth it even if XF.
