I collect several coin series in Dansco albums. However, some of my key coins are PCGS or NGC certified / slabbed. Of course, there is no way I'll ever cut them out of the slabs just to fill a hole in my albums.

I'd like to have a plastic "slug" in the correct size of the coin to put into the albums, perhaps with a "slabbed" label or something similar. That way whenever I'm showing off the album or just looking through it, it would be readily apparent the coin is located elsewhere (i.e. in a slab).

Has anyone ever made such a slug? Where can I find them? Does anyone know how to contact Dansco and make the suggestion?

The answer is no, I haven't.

I have seen plastic coins of various quality for either toys or to teach change making, and a life size cutout of a photo of your coin in the slab could be attached to the exposed surface. I have a stamp collection, and several of the "biggies" are represented in the albums by cut outs from auction catalogs, while the stamps themselves are well protected.

I was thinking of painting on of the common date coins of the series a red or blue to identify that it was a slab in my collection just to fill the empty spot but havent tried it yet.

I think the bronze medal in some mint sets might be the same size as cents.
