Frustrating to say the least.... on a few of my auctions, I have had extremely slow payers (2+ days to pay) and a few that straight up haven't paid. In my previous selling days, I usually got instant PayPal and never had to open unpaid case. Thoughts?
Well, in their infinite wisdom, ebay won't let you neg them. So, leave positive FB and tell them that they are dirt bags
I have it happen every now and then. usually its the folks that put a bid in and don't check back to see if they won. I've had a guy buy who's only resource was the public library computer. I have an automatic unpaid item case opened up after two days. I realize that could frustrate the buyer, but I've never met a dealer in the shop or at a show who let me wait a few days to pay them. Of course I get the coin right away in that situation, but...
It seems that we do have collectors here who have some strange outlooks on life.......not just paying on time. Chris
I got my last Neutral from a slow payer. He neutraled me not because of the merchandise but because I had opened a non paying case against him after 3 days. Like , I'm the one whose at fault ??, ... because you didn't pay! . Some people out there make me just sit back and shake my head.
I know. There are even people here that think if a thief commits a crime by fraud and the thief accidentally is exposed for three hundred dollars that it is our moral obligation to refund the money to the thief and wish them good luck in future crimes.
One of the reasons that FleaBay did a near 180 degree turnaround against the rights of sellers was because years ago, some sellers used to do everything to intimidate buyers and force them to leave positive feedback, OR ELSE! That change took years and years of complaints from buyers to implement those changes. So, I guess since the shoe is on the other foot, as sellers, you have to start filing strong complaints with FleaBay. FleaBay and SpayPal only listen to the sound of folding money. Chris
Have you tried sending a message to the buyer? Believe it or not, if someone is very active on eBay, an invoice can become lost in the fray.
This violates eBay policy and will cause problems for you and not the buyer. EBay will also remove false positive feedback. It might also remove your account.
I'm not sure I understand the original complaint completely. Is there a condition in your auctions when payment is due and buyers aren't paying by the end of that period? Is this a complaint against buyers just not paying as soon as the auction ends? I understand about a non payment. In defense of slow payers - some buyers cannot sit in front of their computer/tablet/phone until the auction ends for a number of reasons.
And sometimes the bids are entered several days ahead and were either entered via eBay or snipe tool.
These were two BIN and he negotiated with me on the two sets that won them. Youd assume he wants them ship fast
Did he click buy-it-now or did he accept a counteroffer from you? Or was it that he made an offer, and you subsequently accepted it? If the former, there is no oversight. If the latter, oversight is possible. Message him or her.
Also, put your payment requirements in the auction. State what your expectations are - i.e. "expect payment in 3 days," and state what your policy is on non-payment (automatically opens in XX days). It's ebay, you take your chances. I've got bad feedback because USPS lost a freaking $3 purse and you'd think that I kicked the guy's dog or something. He got a refund but posted that he didn't even before letting me know anything and ignored my requests to cancel the transaction even before it happened. Some people are just jerks. You do what you can...
I've never sold any coins on ebay and I can see it's tough for you sellers who get stuck with non payers and late payers. However, on the flip side there are ebay sellers who I pay right away and they take two weeks to send the coin to me. I just received a coin this week that I paid for on July 5th. And these are sellers here in the USA. With tracking you can see when they mailed the coin out.
Ditto. This has happened to me enough to be aggravating. Sometimes they send a "shipped" message but days later when I check the tracking I find out that the seller has yet to bring the item to the shipper.
I've got perfect feedback and usually pay as soon as I win . But a couple of times I forgot when the auction ended and may have taken a couple days to pay . I think the least the seller can do is send an e-mail to the winner in case someone forgot . Heck if you need the money so bad in 2 days you shouldn't be selling . Treat people like you'd want to be treated .
