I had posted these pics as one of two new finds in the coin chat area and noticed the slanted "I" in "In God We Trust." Someone there said something about being damage from a roll machine, but I don't understand how a roll machine could alter how lettering was on a coin. Sooooooooooo, I'm reposting the pic of this coin here to see if you error experts have some comment for me. Thanks!!
The machine that rolls the end of the paper rolls often will leave a scratch around the coin or in some cases will just damage some of the letters. When this first happened it would be very obvious but over time the area toned and wore down so that the only evidence left is the moved letter. Richard
