I have two PCGS slabbed 1954S Franklin halves...an MS63 FBL and an MS65. According to the PCGS web page, the MS63 FBL is listed at $35.00 The MS65 is listed at $50.00.(BTW, an MS65 FBL is listed at 325 bucks!!! An MS64 FBL is listed at eighty dollars.)

I'm trying to weed out my collection and want to sell one on ebay. I know the PCGS price guide isn't accurate. My eyes see no difference in the coins. Which one should I sell? Which one is more desirable in a set?

PCGS only requires that the bottom set of bell lines be intact for the FBL designation, but it is possible that the upper bell lines might also be intact. Take a look at your MS63 to see if the upper set of lines are intact. If they are, then I would keep it and sell the MS65.

  4. Without seeing pics, I would keep the MS65. TC
