I once saw an ancient coin mounted in a slab that was attributed to Elagabalus. The coin in the slab was not Elagabalus. The price was too high or I would have bought it just for the cute slabbing error.

I don’t really search for these things but over time I have acquired a few cute slabbing errors. This first slab lists the coin as an Argentina 50 Centavos. Although the error coin is expanded to the size of a 50 Centavos, the coin in the slab is actually a 10 Centavos.

This next slab claims to house a 1992-S silver 50 cent coin. The coin in the slab is certainly a 1994-S. Based upon a quick tissue paper test, I believe the slabbed coin is in fact made of silver.

This slab claims to house a no-date quarter. Can you read the 1999 date on the coin?

Do you all have similar slabbing errors?
    Let’s post some photos folks.

It's a commemorative coin of some sort that is using the zodiac?

It's the Chinese character for horse. 2014 is the year of the horse according to Chinese zodiac.

The coin in the holder is a 10 Centavos and the label states 50 Centavos.

A grading instructor told us the story of a FB dime that had the wrong mint mark listed on the label. He told us that the "rare" FB coin changed hands 5 times at a show before someone detected the mint mark discrepancy.

Does anyone have slab error stories or some cool photos to share?

It'd be interesting to create a thread about fake coins in real slabs. These here are interesting, but just curiosities, nothing more. Slabbing a fake coin as real is a much bigger problem.
