Can anyone educate me on the evolution of slabs for PCGS and NGC or point to a website. Both security and how the coin looks in the holder and which ones show the coin best. This would apply for previous holders since you never know when an old slab has a great coin.
The canonical book is Conder101's from 2003, but it's out of print. If you are an ANA member you can borrow their copy from the library. The SampleSlabs.com site focuses on sample slabs and has not been updated since Cameron Kiefer's untimely death around the same time. There are 'generations' posts on the PCGS and NGC boards where people have updated Conder's information. That's the best I can point you to.
