I am very sorry for the delay in posting the last round of this contest. I have had the completed image since tuesday but have been having serious computer issues and just recently found a way to post the pics. Every one got the previous round correct except for BLUE OXEN: he figured that he'd get it wrond anyway so its not so bad. The remaining 4 people should PM asap to see if we need a new round. I copied the answers of illini420 because he posted the most thorough answers: The coin is an "1868" and not an "1886" as listed on the slab. The coin is a "2C" and not a "C2" as listed on the slab. The coin is an "RB" and not a "BR" as listed on the slab. The grading company is "PCGS" and not "PGCS" as listed on the slab. Finally, the coin's certification number of "14991833" is incorrect as that number is tied to a 1917 Walking Liberty Half Dollar graded MS63 in the PCGS database. The correct certification number for this coin is "14919833" This is by far, the hardest round in the contest and hopefully one that will narrow the contest to just one or two people.
Not to barge in... mcarney1173, Been following this series of contest threads and noticed that the first post of Round 5 did not include the list of errors ( or not ) concerning the Mercury Dime from Round 4. Thanks for the good read and the coin studying lesson - fun! Mike
That one was fun... #1= The 1C was wrong, the coin is a 10C... #2= The date of the coin is a 1942/1, not 1942 as shown..according to PCGS Cert Verification.... Those were the only 2 things wrong.
pretty neat contest going here, i've been comparing verification numbers from ebay and have found a few that didn't match up. Has this coin been changed out or just a mistake from pcgs?
Hey I'm wondering if there's ever going to be any resolution to this contest? It'd pretty disappointing for this to be one of the few I had a chance to participate in and have it peter out.
