Single seller gets big premiums? eBay oddity....

Been looking to fill out my growing collection of NGC PF69UC Kennedys... On the current end of the spectrum, it seems there are two main sellers for this item - CRC-1 and paradisemint. Both seem to be selling identical items - 2013 Kennedy clad 50 c pieces graded by NGC as PF69 Ultra Cameo. Each seller seems to have them in the various slabs offered - brown, blue, Red white and blue, and Presidential portrait.

Oddly, though, it seems as if all the CRC-1 offerings close for much higher prices. Most of the paradisemint ones go for $10 or less. This includes free shipping. The CRC-1 ones go for much more (also with free shipping). An example is this currently open one for (at this posting time) over $31... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-S-SILV...GC-PF69-ULTRA-CAMEO-BROWN-LABEL-/200925368415 with over a day and a half still to go...

Is there something I'm missing about the CRC-1 auctions that would make them worth so much more of a premium than the others? It wouldn't bother me but I had a bad experience with paradisemint so I really don't want to go with them again. Still, both have similar feedback scores. CRC-1 is 100%, paradisemint is 99.9%.

    Any ideas???

I have bought proof Kennedy's from both sellers through eBay many times. I like them both. There is nothing better about CRC-1 in my experience, they both fulfilled my expectations on each transaction. They are both selling the same PF69UC coins, so it only makes sense to go with the lowest price IMHO. I would not say that CRC-1 is always higher, or I would not have purchased any coins from them over past years. But it may be that in the recent past, they are going for more for some reason.

p.s. If you want to buy direct: http://www.paradisemint.com/2013-S-...PF69-UC-Early-Releases-Blue-Label_p_3466.html This is sometimes a better deal than eBay and sometimes worse.

Thanks...I've bought from both sellers in the past too. Just recently noticed the price discrepancy with the CRC auctions. Just thought it was odd that several of his auctions on this item would be getting such a premium over what the other major seller in the category was getting.

Some sellers just have big followings, for whatever reasons. I've bid on a number of Kennedys that Shane (kryptonitecomics) had up for auction, but so far I've only won a single coin. He's got a big following, and his customers bid coins up to prices that are usually higher than I'm willing to pay. That's great for him, but not great for bargain hunting. Keep your eyes peeled for the collectors that are just moving inventory to make room for new - also check out L&C Coin's eBay auctions, usually ending Sunday nights. They frequently have a bucket full of PR69 and 70 Kennedys up for auction with 99-cent opening bids and no reserve. I've gotten some real bargains there.

Thanks - I will do that. Do you know L&C Coin's ebay handle, so I can look for them?

There are some world coin sellers who I've noticed the same thing about. I can list a coin for $1 with 75 cents shipping and get no bids, and one of these sellers lists the same coin at $3.25 shipping and it sells for $5. It doesn't make sense except that people must add them to their favorite sellers and keep checking back.
