This is a 2006 Canadian 50 Cents coin displaying the Silvery Blue Butterfly. It is a hologram coin with a mintage of 16,000. The lowest of the series. With the exception of 3 rolls of Canadian quarters with the pink ribbon, which I sold for $5 each to raise money for Breast cancer research, I have never desired coins with "stuff" on them. I bought this for a gift to my mother when it came out since she likes butterflies. She came across it today while cleaning and wanted me to keep it for her. I tried moving the lights several ways to get the best hologram effect. Capsule is sort of recessed in the holder so it was hard to clean off all the dust.
