Well...by the dates minted on the coins:

90% silver 10% copper (refered to as coin silver)
    Washington 1932 - 1964
    Roosevelt 1946 - 1964
    Kennedy - 1964 only

    40% silver
    Kennedy 1965 - 1970, 1976 (special commem' sets with S mint)

    Lincolns:
    95% copper - 5% tin and zinc
    1909-1942, 1946 - 1982
    *1943 - Steel
    *1944 - 1945 - (Bronze 95% copper 5% Zinc)
    *1982 - present - Pure copper over 99.2% zinc .8% copper

Note 1982 both copper and copper/zinc types minted

Hope this helped. Pulled the info from coinfacts.com

Mainly because if you wish to learn it is absolutely necessary. Secondly because I'm not always here.

I agree with Spider. I like him asking his questions as it gets me curious again about certain things. I recommend Spider that you just ask your questions here no matter how simple or newbish they may seem!
