I'm trying to help someone sell their silverware, how much do you think one could make off of this and where would the best place to sell it be?

There are 6lbs 4.8oz. (100.8oz) it is an entire set, 12 knifes, forks, small spoons and large spoons and I believe there are 3 03 4 serving spoons and 1 serving fork. I believe the brand is Chateau Rose and am assuming it is sterling silver.

    Thanks for your input!

My feelings toward this is to not sell for the silver content but as an antiquity. I dont know a whole lot about silverware but it seems to me like Chateau Rose is a fairly well known silverware and people maybe looking to add to their own sets. I would search google and see if you can find a similar set and determine when the set was made and going prices and confirm they are sterling. After you determine some sort of pricing, I would just list them on ebay and see what happens.

There are always many sterling flat wear sets on eBay. Selling there would be my choice.

Good luck.......there's no market for it other than spot!
That said .....I know as I tried to sell 6 full sets. Let's face it no one uses it any longer. My mom had the Rose pattern she absolutely hated using it as it had to be polished and washed each use. And the was back in the 50 and 60's when it was still in vogue to use such for a holiday dinner or special occasion . You also need to know that the knife is the least desired as the blade isn't silver and the handle is filled with pitch. So the handle is only a thin skin and worth next to nothing at the silver prices today.
If you do find a buyer......they will offer you way below .925 as there's no market .
And the poster who said there's a lot on e bay is 100% correct do a search to find out how many have sold.
Even brand names aren't going to bring any sort of premium . There's also a place on line that sells replacement pieces they aren't in the market to buy unless it's a really rare piece like a shrimp knife .
And by chance you do find someone interested rest assured that the set will be melted.
Sorry to be a Debbie downer but been there done that.....or I should say haven't done it as there's no market.
