Question for Stacking Community: Did you come to stacking strictly from online mentors, or did you have a personal mentor (in the regards to stacking)?

And Follow-up Question: Do you have a stacking protégé of your own?

Thanks for watching and I look forward to reading your responses!

    Long story short.

Grandpa had small coin collection. Early on set Alzheimer's is probably why it remained a small collection.
I held one of his Kennedy Halves, saw its luster, and I was sucked in from that moment.

No mentor, no Protégé. Both would be really cool though. At this point in time, there is no one internet wise or RL wise that I can converse with about PM's.

    :(

My first mentor was my uncle who was a Vietnam vet. He would send me the yearly proof sets for my birthday until I got into my late twenties. The one guy that was my first practical mentor was a SSG Simpson. We were stationed together in Hawaii.

He got me into coins and using E-bay to obtain the coins I wanted. Here was his secret on obtaining the coolest coins. He would buy only on Sunday's (most busiest day on E-bay) and he would shop around 8:00-12:00 at night.

You see there is a 4-5 hour difference from the mainland, so when it was 8PM in Hawaii it was like 1AM in the rest of the upper 48 states. So needless to say he AND I got great deals. Hmm...I think I wondered off topic...sorry.
