Neither, I prefer platinum. But if I had to make a choice from either, probably silver.

    Lets think about it:

    one ounce of gold

    or

    one ounce of silver?

Which would I rather have in my holdings?

duh, I'll take which ever one you want to give me.

I love to collect both....but silver is a little more cost effective for me at this time.

Platinum is very expensive. Gold is expensive. Silver is more economical. Word is the US Mint is suspending the gold coin sales. Anyone hear this or know what is going on?

Haven't heard anything about the mint suspending gold. Has anyone else? I want to see them make a palladium coin. It's like platinum but MUCH cheaper.

I love the gold coins I have but as for collecting I find myself more interested in the numerous silver varieties that abound. I've got Amer. Silver Eagles; Canada's Silver Maple Leaf $5 coins; Australian Panda coins; South African Silver Krugerrands and I'd like one or two of more varied .9999 pure silver coins including the silver pandas and the Austrian Philharmonic silver coins. And then maybe even silver rounds and bars that are beautiful unto themselves. There are many options out there in the silver bullion world.

But if I could, I'd start with the Platinum coins and bars, then the gold coins and bars. However I don't have the resources to do that so I'll work on the SILVER pieces and be quite satisfied and happy to possess and admire those pieces.

Yeah I really like silver, not to crazy over gold. I really want the US mint to make palladium coins.

Apparently, and shamefully, I have a little conquistador in me... I like the shiny yellowish gold... but silver remains a very close number two friend... bathe in bullion...

I can mostly afford to pickup Silver Coins as the Gold Coins are expensive. Gold looks like it is on the rise, once again.

Palladium is just not attractive if you have seen one in real life. I own two palladium coins in both proof and uncirculated. While proof palladium may look spectacular, uncirculated palladium just looks like raw stainless color.

Silver will be easier to sell, but depending on how much money you have to investe, Gold is sure a lot easier to move around. If you travel, it's a lot easier to take a tube of Gaudens rather than 100 tubes of silver eagles.

I like platinum, and now that it is cheap, I wish I could find some more.
