Help with this Please!!!!!! I have a Silver coin that with no date on the front it says "And they shall beat their swords into plowshares" The back has Peace on it in different languages. Any idea of what this is it is lovely on the front has a soldier hammering his swords believe this is Biblical it also has a name on it believe artist Baldwin . If anyone can help I would be so happy thanks
The quote is from the Prophet Isaiah and is meant for an era on earth when there will be world peace. The Bank of Israel came our with a commemorative coin of the holyland in 5760/1999 with the year 2000 on it. The languages on that coin are in Hebrew,English and Arabic. The silver coins are 1 and 2 sheqels and have an olive branch on it. Since you have the name Balwin on it, it sounds like it might be a millennium medal/coin produced in the states or more likely an United Nations Coin for they have a statue that meets your description with that quote from Isaiah outside their New York Building. I would keep it in my gun cabinet for hope.
Israel coin wow! how interesting thank you so very much for your help. This one doesn't have the date 2000 on it the front just has a soldier of some sort hammering a sword. The back has 2 hands passing a leaf so that must be the olive leaf you were talking about . I appreciate your help, can you tell me are they worth anything? thanks
