I saw an add for silver eagles uncirculated for 8.50 each. they limit it to 20 coins. That is by far the cheapest i have seen, but I would like to know if anyone else has done business with this company.
1st American Reserve is the name and they are out of Texas.
    Thanks all, for any help

I bought a roll of ASEs about a year ago from a company in Texas but I don’t remember the name of it. The one you mentioned is one of two or three (all from Texas) that advertise in the magazine whose ad I responded to, so there is a good chance it is the same company.

Once a month they call me with the most pushy, aggressive, won’t-take-no-for-an-answer sales people I’ve ever heard in my life, trying to get me to buy old or new American gold coins, and at prices about double what I can get them for elsewhere. They claim to be making the offer as investment advisers.

My advice is don’t give them your real phone number if you order the ASEs. Give them the phone number of your worst enemy, or the number of a telemarketer (they could be one and the same). :)

How was the product? Did they come in cases or were they lose in the box?

I believe I ended up getting my '04 SEs for about $7.50 with shipping from Littleton... but it was a small Ad I pulled from a childrens magazine in a doctors office lobby. In a quick search I cuold not find the same deal on Littletons web site. To answer your question, No I have no expirience with " 1st American Reserve". But I am interested to know where you saw this ad.

The product was perfect, shipped promptly, and packaged in the original Mint plastic tubes.

Littleton is a good company that actually gives you what you order. I ordered the Silver eagles a few months ago and they came with a bonus uncirculated nickel. Was a great deal.
They also send you some other coins (in this case more Silver eagles from prior years) on approval. You can send them back free of charge if you don't want them and cancel (or else they'll keep sending you coins).
The prices on the other coins were a bit higher than you could get them for elsewhere (e.g. ebay or probably most other coin dealers). I guess they have to make money somehow. I just canceled.
BTW, do you have the offer code they gave you?

It was in Time magazine. I have seen other ads in Newsweek which included the gold coins as well. Im just afaid that I will be disappointed if I order from them. Can you offer suggestions of questions to ask them to insure getting a good coin?

About 80% higher, in my experience.

They do have a great catalog, though !
