I don't care how much they are "worth." I need to know the silver content (example: Canadian silver dime is .800 fine silver=0.6 Troy oz. fine silver) of the coins I have. I have coins from all over the world that may or may not be silver but I am having trouble finding the information I need on the Internet.
Here are a few links: http://www.24carat.co.uk/silvercontentofcoins.html http://www.imes.boj.or.jp/cm/english_htmls/feature_gra1-12.htm U.S. coins 1964 and older are 90% silver.

Most of the information you are looking for probably is somewhere on the internet Alice, but it's just not all gathered neatly together at one site. The description of each coin in the Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins - all four volumes covering 1601-almost current - includes its composition. In the case of coins containing silver that typically includes the weight of the coin in grams, the percentage of silver, and the Actual Silver Weight in troy ounces. Krause will also tell you the makeup of your other coins - gold, copper, bronze, nickle, brass, aluminum, zinc, tin, clay, fiber, or combinations of one or more. Since you probably don't want to spend a couple of Ben Franklins on this particular quest, try your local public library. (If you have coins predating the 17th Century, you'll need other more specialized works to answer your questions about them.)
