I am new to coin roll hunting for silver, I normally search pennies and I want to know what the order is from best to worst for finding silver in dimes, nickels, and quarters. Sadly my bank does not get any halves unless maybe once a year a customer will bring some in. Thanks for your input.

Quarters don't produce much from experience. Dimes are best. Thursday I only searched $30 worth, but turned up two silver USA dimes and one Canadian from 1958. Halves are real hit or miss. Sometimes I go through hundreds worth of them and turn up nothing and then like the other day the teller only had $3.50 worth and they were these:

This is one of those pursuits that is not for the feint of heart. You have to be persistent to strike silver. You have to get your paws dirty, schmooze with tellers, get to know the vault teller especially and continue to be friendly as possible.

I get a better amount of war nickels per box than silver dimes, however the war nickels are only 35% silver so I technically find more silver in the dime boxes.

I too get more silver from nickels (2-3 per box), then dimes (1-2), then quarters ( 0, 1 if I am lucky). However, dimes and quarters can just be edge searched for silver, so you can breeze through boxes of them as opposed to nickels, where you have to look at every single one.
