Say I have a walking liberty half....

Is the value in silver of that half .36 troy ounce times price of silver troy ounce (present).

Or is there an additional factor as it isn't .999 but .90 junk silver?

    Thanks for you input!

yes. your walking liberty is worth .36 times spot price.

but if you went to a coin store and tryed to sell it they would pay under spot.

And the only additional factor would be if the coin itself was a key date coin or higher grade that will draw a bigger premium.

I estimate coins based on 90% of its intrinsic value unless the coin has collector value. I get the intrinsic value at coinflation.com. Although silver is the driving force for instrinsic value, the other metals make a small difference. Since you will never get better than 90% value, I value at that discount.
