Hi to all, I am from Malaysia, happy to join to cointalk here. i have some Queen Victoria Hong Kong One Dollar Silver Coin yr 1867 and 1868. But some already been made into belt, something like this "http://www.rubylane.com/item/456574-0412/WWII-Netherlands-Coin-Bracelet", there are four silver jump ring attach to the coin. Do coin like this lose it value totally? what can i do about it, keep it as belt or try retrieve it from the belt? thank for the advise.. Regards Liew
http://www.rubylane.com/item/456574-0412/WWII-Netherlands-Coin-Bracelet Pretty well damaged. Keep it as a belt.
I have a collection of what I called abused coins, such as some 100 year old Finland silver coins that have been turned into a tie clip and 100 year old Norway silver coins that were turned into a set of cuff-links etc. etc.
Welcome Liewei. Those types of belt buckles, bracelets pretty much ruin the value entirely. They used to be popular but it was a long, long time ago and they were never popular with coin collectors. Just people who didn't know better.
