I don't think I have heard mention of this auction house. Would this be a bad place to consign coins ?
I don't think Silver City Auctions and Silvertowne are affiliated with each other. Silvertowne is a pretty major dealer, but they're in Indiana, and SCA is in Ohio. Could be wrong about the affiliation though. As for SCA - not that it means much, but I've never even heard of them before.

I've consigned coins with them a number of years ago and had no issues. They auction raw uncertified as well as slabbed coins. Buyer beware on their raw auction coins. My personal experience has been hit or miss with the raw coins since their photos aren't the best. I've gotten several raw 3 cent nickels from their auctions and had them slabbed and gotten straight grades.
They've been around for a long time. I think I bought my first auction coin from them a decade ago. They typically hold auctions every Tuesday and Thursday.
Seems like because Ebay stopped allowing "certified" coins from unknown, or lesser known houses, they moved here. CNA, CCGS, NNC. My only suggestion is to be wary of these and over grading. Kinda like ACG.
Have you tried David Lawrence Rare Coins? Or GreatCollections? They both seem to have good terms, although I've never consigned to them.
I would say David Lawrence does not do raw coins, as many larger/more prominent auction houses don't, but don't know for sure. My issues are the consignment/auction fees...many upwards/over 30-percent.
