I recently went to my grandfathers house and somehow silver certificates came up in discussion and he told me of some he had, he gave me four silver certificates as an early birthday present, but i know nothing about them, any info on the certificates i got would be greatly appreciated. a Five Dollar 1963 a Five Dollar 1934-D This is where i am questionable, he gave me two twenties that he thought were silver certificates, he said something about they didnt put the traditional silver certificate on the top for twenties, but he was not sure and this is not his expertise. So are these certificates, they say they are regular notes. A 20 dollar 1950 A 20 Dollar 1934 A Any info is greatly appreciated
Your twenties are Federal Reserve Notes just like the paper money we use today. The should have the same green seal as all Federal Reserve Notes since 1928. By the way, what color is the seal on your 1963 $5 bill? To the best of my knowledge, they didn't issue any Silver Certs in 1963. Hope this was a little help.
