silver 1977 2 pence coin

    hello people was cleaning out my mums house and come across a silver 1977 2p coin never seen 1 before just seeing if its worth anything or just throw it in the rubbish ?

    Well we don't just throw coins in the garbage.
    Asking questions is encouraged but it strikes me as a strange way to ask.

    We don't but regular-type folk who aren't into coins don't see them like collectors do. An example can be seen at banks with coin counting machines wherein it is a common practice for tellers to just throw away all of the foreign coins they find. I've also heard of foreign coins just being thrown away next to Coinstar machines after being rejected by them.

    Yes I have heard of that.
    I have saved every coin I got at my Mother's house. Also
    instead of throwing it away give it to a youngster.
