I met Paul O'Neil, former Sec of Treasury a few years back. I had him sign a $5 bill right above his signature on the bill. He said it was now worth $5.10 !

Highly unlikely I will part with it, but anybody have an idea of the value???

No but it would probably depend on how often he has done it and the auction venue in which it was sold not to mention condition.

BTW: welcome to Coin Talk! :)

Post a pic - there are some very knowledgeable people here that could give you a better idea if they can see it. The serial number, date, run, etc will all contribute greatly to its value.

Paul O'Neill was Secretary of the Treasury for just over 16 months but has signed alot of currency. His autograph alone on an uncirculated $5 (raw) might bring anywhere from $30 to $60. Some buyers want notes with autographs verified by a third party grader, and those sell for sometimes double. Check eBay and Heritage archives and completed auctions for a better idea on what they might sell for. I bought this dual autographed $1 for $80. Welcome to Coin Talk.

A while back I sent two one dollar bills to Paul O'Neil to sign. Well I got them back and now they are part of my small collection of signed bills.
