OK Fellow CTF'ers, I showed you what I think is my nicest Morgan now I'd love to see pics of the best one(s) from your collection.I know there must be some stunners out there.Bag marks are fine, almost all of them have a few..or more..I'm looking for nice clean strikes and nice luster and/or toning, maybe frosty PL devices (I don't have ANY of those).Bring on those beauties!:eat: I'll break the ice...1886-P
I don't collect them but I do have two. They aren't very nice and they sit in my collection alone and miserable. They won't even photograph well. Here they are. A 1889-O and 1879-P
here are mine nothing to special but mine, http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c224/djluster/coinbestback.jpg there you go steal learning how to take good pics
I love pics of Morgans. Die cracks are cool: Only the reverse mark keeps this one from a big grade: I dunno, I just think it's pretty: A fingerprint, which isn't good. A VAM15, DMPL obverse, PL reverse, which is. My personal favorite, an apparently yet-unidentified S/S VAM:
i know this is an old post(page 101) but....wow...you guys absolutely rule! thank you so much for sharing those pics. i am aspiring to put together a set of morgans and have been fortunate to look thru tens of thousands of coins (the interrnet wasn't available when i was collecting previously). you have some special coins which i would be quite proud of in my collection...thank you again for sharing.
Carson City Mint silver $1 coin. Becky, that is a very nice Carson City Mint silver $1 coin you have shown here. Aidan.
Here's a total ignoramus question. What exactly is a "Morgan"? I know it's a silver dollar, but what makes it a Morgan as opposed to something else? I have 3 Carson City ones (so I've been told) in a case. 2-1884 and 1-1881. I just posted pics of some more (I think?) that were marked Morgan on Vial #8. See photos at http://www.monshaugenfamily.com/coins.htm
