shouldn't this place just be called YN contests?

Can we just change the name of this Forum to
    "Contests for YN only"
the only reason I say this is I don't see contests for anyone except YN for the most part
and I know YN's don't usually have the $ to buy coins but $ isn't just limited to those 18 and under...
also I'm not saying this to receive a bunch of free coins for myself and if I have to stay away from contests to state that I will
I just get annoyed to see contests and then to see your not allowed
(most of the time I think it's not about the prize when you win but about the win when you win)

Contests should be open to anybody, and if the contest specifies that it is for YN only, than so be it.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I am anything except a YN. So far, I have won 4 contests.

There have been alot of great contests here that were open to everyone. I've participated in alot of them and held a couple myself.

Just doing a quick count, the last 10 contests posted, only one required that you be a YN... I am a little bit curious where this is coming from, seems like there are more than enough contests to go around.

I won my fair share of contests (and then some) as well as held a few and am not a YN.

    Noost,

How about that epic battle we had. How many rounds did we go? I like running the contest more than entering the one. I am also not a YN.

I've entered plenty of contests and won one not to long ago. I also am not a YN. In my opinion there are more than enough contests held that have no restrictions on eligibility. I think those that hold the contests should be thanked for there generosity. I don't see a need to complain because there have been YN only contests.

If you read the forum rules, the contest rules are for the person holding the contest to decide, and those who have had YN contests are doing so because it is their perogative.

in the years i have been here, most constest were NOT excelusively for YN's. It may appear to be that at this point, it looks like most are going that way - but so what. After all, the YN;s are the future of this hobby. We need to do out part to help them elanr and stay interested.

Give it time.. i am sure more contests will be started that are not just geared for the YN's.

the ebb of contests flows back and forth :)

I enjoy opening their minds to new venues of collecting, what better than a contest to do it?

I think it is up to the holder of the contest who they allow to participate. I have held contests in the past that required a certain number of posts or certain amount of time being a member before they could enter...what's the difference. If someone wants to hold a contest and restrict the entries...that's their business. If it excludes me (which YN contests do), then I live with it.

That said, it seems like there have been more YN contests lately than before...but there is nothing wrong with that.
