$18 plus shipping ( $40 or so total) to slab
    64RB going about $60/75
64RD going about $90/100+ these days
    65 closer to $200+

    are you a gambler?

I'd slab it in a heartbeat. To me its a no brainer. U have a nice coin there. Once it's slabbed and graded, it'll be a whole lot easier to monitor, look at, hold, view, show others and keep track of. Plus when you mail it to me as a gift, I'll appreciate it a whole lot more too. :hail:

200-40 is only 160 if you are planning to sell we dont even want to know what 90-40 is

actual e-bay sales last 2 months.

    pcgs 64 RD 22 total averaging $125.00
    pcgs 65 RD 19 total averaging $210.00
    pcgs 64 RB 9 total averaging $75.00
    pcgs 65 RB 5 total averaging $103.00

You see a lot of coins working in a shop. If you think it will go 64 RD or 65 RD, roll the dice. Slab it......sell it by January 2009......Then sometime late 2010 maybe replace it for less, another roll of the dice. Ain't life grand!

You have to weigh what you can get for it now, in raw state.

I slabbed a bunch for a grading set and split the shipping cost up over about 30 coins, it's those 1-2 coin submissions that get ya.

    I say,heck yeah, slab it.

    slab it

After my last post on my "rusting" coppers I want to slab all my coins. Thinking of doing NCS on any questionable coins and if no problem they will go to NGC. It seems full red is so susceptible to going brown and you live by the coast (Lake Michigan) so you probably deal with the same issues I do. Just my humble opinion.

    I appreciate the input guys.

Think it has a good shot at 64 or even 65RD. I'd go NGC though as we do a lot of NGC at work. Still reputable, faster turnaround and cheaper for me.

My better coins may go PCGS but they are pricing themselves out of the market. Slow turnaround at a higher price.

May bring this one into work this week and see.

Why are you thinking of slabbing it. If you are going to sell it, yes, slab it. If you are going to keep it, isn't $40 a little on the expensive side for a storage container?

PCGS and NGC cost the same

Cuz I would sell it and, it wouldn't cost me $40 and I'd get another raw one.

Not big on Lincolns nor slabbing but looking at things a lot differently now that I work in a shop.

That's the bottom line. I could put more in my collection this way.

As I said before, if you are going to sell it (eBay?), slab it - especially if you can get it less than $40.

Clembo, slab that puppy. Skip buying lunch for a couple of days and you got all your $$$ back. :mouth:

Yes, that's what I do. I skip something for a couple of days. Then I buy something else and have to go a few more days. And then it happens again......

Yes, I'm the hermit on the hill that all the neighbors are talking about :)

do it man, do it, however you can do it with dgs and the slabbing will only run about $18.

I have 2 myself and I've thought about sending them in. DO it and lets see how it turns out.

By my standards it doesn't have enough value yet.
I want the cost to be 10% or less of the coin's perceived value.
So, by my standards, unless you are looking to sell in the near future, don't slab it.
