I picked this roll up for $6 and was wondering if its worth opening? If possible do you think I could resell it for more?

I'd hold onto it. I would not open it. I have many rolls of unopened (all-the-same-date) rolls. They're fun to collect.

I don't know the value of selling this as a roll, but with that color tone on the coins, I'd be very tempted to have a look and see how many have that color. If NT, and certified, they could be more valuable not in a roll. Very tempting looking... PLEASE post pics of you crack it open.

For $6, why not open it? Post pictures!

That's my anticipation speaking, by the way. :D

I've opened bank rolled coins and got some surprises. Besides a couple of varieties and errors and some really nice toned ones, I also was so disappointed with how badly some of the rolls held up. There were bad spots all over some of the coins. One "bank" roll had black fingerprints on otherwise BU coins. Luckily, I bought them for almost face.

I can't advise you one way or the other. Curiousity always gets the best of me.

I'd like to suggest that you open them live on a webcam.....Please!

    I'd open them.

Leaving them in that roll could hurt them if they are in there much longer as the toning looks good on that outside but you never know on the inside and too much of that could turn it bad.

Yeah pop that roll open! Incidentally I have a roll of 1968-S that I posted a couple of months ago. Ppl told be back then to open it, maybe I'll crack it open this weekend, just waiting for the right day. Ya know, like "we will sell no wine before it's time", commercial? I will open no roll until I've thought about it and I'm still not done thinking. :D

I'll be the contrarian and say not to open them. The coins are a common date and the only future premium I could see is as a roll to some other collector.

  12. I vote to open it. I freed a roll of 1955 Roosevelt dimes a few months ago and the majority were brilliant even though the ones on the end were dingy and toned. TC

I would have already opened it up. I am too curious to leave it alone for more than 2 minutes. LOL And that would be because I am looking at something else. You can always store them in a tube.

I recently had the same choice, but I ALWAYS open... found these two in BU rolls. I had a whole ammunition box of mixed dates... Unfortunately about half of my rolls had similar 'toning' on the outer coins, but it was moisture damage in my opinion, and it had ruined most of those rolls... But I did find these two gems... :)
