I have a complete set of franklin halves. Nothing below XF and some AU and some BU... Have someone that might wanna trade a boat for my set.( 16ft boat with 70hp motor and fishfinder) for river. Think it is worth it?

If you really want the boat you could go for it.. I'd try to compare what each would sell for and make sure you are not getting the raw end of the deal. Boats can cost a lot to keep up and running, but if it is your thing, it can be worthwhile :)

    I say go for it!

I just bought a B/U set of Franklins for $650 last month. Can't imagine I could buy a 16 ft boat with outboard for that.

Of course, with the Franklins once you've spent the money you're done. With a boat, the purchase price is just the start of your spending.

If it flies, floats, or fornicates, it is better to rent. Wise words from one of my old mentors

Having recently celebrated my 13th anniversary, I ask this, why didn't you tell me this 13 1/2 years ago?

Do you really need (or even want) a hole in the water to throw money into?

A boat is a liability, even when it's paid for it costs money. Once you obtain a coin, it costs little or nothing after.

It all depends on how big the hole in the boat is and how many parts the motor is in.

vintin...YESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A 16 footer in good shape with a decent 75 hp is worth a lot more than those Franklins. I am itching to get something along those lines for fishing and fossil collecting. You wont dump a bunch of money into a boat that size. Its the big guys that cost you out the nose in ongoing stuff.
