I have been stung a number of times by Revenue Canada in which they intercepted coins I bought/won from ebay. It all revolves around that green card that is filled out that declares the contents and value. It ****es me off that on occasion revenue Canada will demand a duty on them, and include a nice little processing fee to boot. My question to everyone on both sides of the border is, have anyone else been burned like this? How do you advoid it? I know I have sent coins to the U.S before and on the green card I write 'Birthday Present' with a made up nominal value. Today I received one from the U.S, a wonderful MS-60 Red, 1933 Lincoln I won on ebay, in which the seller wrote on this green card.. 'Processed Planchet' I just love the inginuity. Thanks
What is it that the world governments fear about currency exchange so much? Especially on a level of a few coins? If shipping out of Country I always write Souvenir pins/ Tokens.
I just write gift and book , and put the coin in the book , or a small magazine , never mention coin . rzage
