Here is a Severus Alexander Tet. I picked from the same ebay seller as the Lucilla Tet. I got.

This Tet was won for only $12.

Will be on wildwinds when Dane gets to it.

Also the coin seems red- toned. A good buy indeed.

Heck, for 12 bucks why not right? A lunch costs almost as much, and it's a pretty nice coin too.

Severus Alexander find me at NumisForums

Oooh, it's me!! Excellent!! Awesome deal, @Mat!

Here's my first ever ancient coin, purchased at an antique shop in England for 5 GBP, when I was a teenager:
AE as, IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, laureate head right, slight drapery on far shoulder; PROVIDENTIA AVG S.C., Providentia standing facing, holding anchor and corn ears, modius at feet. RIC IV 647.

I expect it's unusual to start a collection with a rather scarce third century small bronze! It was not identified (not even as Roman), so I immediately bought a book and puzzled out the legends. I was hooked.

Much later, I got the denarius, RIC 252 (my avatar coin):

And then finally the sestertius (RIC 645):

Sadly, I don't yet have an Orbiana to accompany my 3 Sev Alexes. :( What I'd especially like is an AE as like @Alegandron's to go with my coin #1.
