    Maybe. PVC is not the only thing that is green colored. But I do agree with your point.

    On topic, I don't think that looks like PVC damage. Unique toning, reaction with impurities after dipping, something else... not PVC.

    I've noticed the fresher verdigris is, the greener it is.

    It looks like tone to me also, but very suspicious toning ( to me) . A little on the obverse also.

    Well, I asked because I did not think it looked like PVC or verdigris. Here is his response;

    He should send it back to NGC so they can update the label to Red/Green. An instant rarity. How many Red/Green MS-67 Lincoln cents do you know of? LOL!

    Perhaps it was green when NGC slabbed it the first time. My 1937 MS coins for some reason tend to tone more intensely than previous and later year in the 30s.

    I have never cut open a NGC holder of the generation shown, but many holders have the coin in a silicone gasket which with the sonic seal does a very good job of limiting gas flow.

    Usually, yes, but what happens if it is already there, whatever it might be?
    Remember this one. It was only 65 red and that is not iridescent toning.
