OK, here's the last ancient I'll post today. This one apparently is serrated and has the bust of an individual with a pointed crown like a Roman Antoninians. The size is 15mm and 3.4g. Any ideas??? Thanks for looking Ben
Bone, Since serrated coins pretty much disappeared before the Roman emperors,I suspect you might have a Seleucid bronze serrated coin like the ones on this page of uncleaned coins.Look a the coin at bottom center.Looks a little like yours. It could be a torch? http://www.kersh.com/product_info.php?products_id=141
Mike, I had a fellow over on the FORVM come up with: http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/sg/sg6994.html Antochos IV, so your spot on. Thanks for looking. Take Care Ben
I thought so.I've been looking at this: http://www.grifterrec.com/coins/seleucia/seleucid2.html and there are a lot of radiate crowns and a lot of serrated edges as well...especially Antiochus.Check out these two..from page 1. http://www.grifterrec.com/coins/seleucia/seleucid.html
It's in pretty worn shape. Not much more to be discovered by cleaning. It's pretty small as well. Take Care Ben
