I just received my uncut 2009 $2 notes.:hail: This is just one of the sheets. Sorry, but I can't show the 32 note sheet here.

If we get a new president, will Rosie and Tim be replaced, causing a need for a new series date?
Will these be a low numbered issue because of that change?

Even if we *don't* get a new president, Geithner has already stated his intentions of stepping down after the election. So we expect to see a new series next year in any case.

But it shouldn't make much difference where $2's are concerned; they're *always* a fairly small issue. The Fed ordered 134.4 million $2's printed in the past fiscal year, so the 2009 $2 already has a higher printage than the 2003 $2 had.

And as we've seen with past $2 series, the BEP will continue to print and sell 2009 $2 collector products (uncut sheets, premium notes, ...) until the *next* $2 series comes along, even if several series go by in the meantime (y'know, the way they've been selling 2003A $2 products up until now, right through Series 2006). It's expensive to make the new master plate at the start of a series; they won't make another $2 master until they need another batch of $2's for circulation.

I've been asking for new straps of 2009 2's, and any banks that have 2's have 2003A. Six years old and still have new ones to hand out. Talk about a slow mover.

You'd be amazed how many of the $2s I have in my wallet are still Series 1976. I even turn up 1953 and 1963 every few months. I live in an area with mostly an older population - good for collecting as you can see from my posts about finds.

I wish you people wouldn't show those. Now I'm getting tempted to get some of these, thus spending even more money

You know, talking about the $2 note moving so slowly is quite possibly one of the major reasons why I don't collect them. I actually like the vignette on the back, but something turns me against them when it comes time to buying them/collecting them. Sure, I have some red seals and a nice 1976 star note with the cancelled stamp on it, but I can get those from almost every bank since it's rare for the general populace to actually ask for them. Then try buying something with the $2 notes and you get looks and skepticism.
