Well if you win ten games, then you have made an insane profit. I would keep it on me as often as possible:devil:
i will have to look up the rules of the game...never heard of it. but if i can make a buck or two, why not!
you find another person(or more people, if you want) with a dollar bill. You fold them two ways so that you can only see one of the serial numbers and the "enemy" can't. Then you take turns saying the pairs or sets you have of digits. the thing is, you can lie, and count the other guy's numbers. But, you can "call", or be "called", and if you are called the game is over, and if you lied about your last number, (say, you said seven 4's and you had 5 and they had 0, or 1) Then you loose. Winner keeps all the dollars.
It's a truly fascinating game of quick thinking and bluffing skills. Your "problem" is that MOST players I know won't let your bring your own bill to the game. :too-funny: I run with two groups that play...a group of airplane nerds, and a bunch of hockey fans. In both cases, our rules stipulate that we must be somewhere with a till or register from which we can obtain "random" bills. Most other folks I've heard of include a similar rule. But hey..never hurts to try! lol It's definitely a game for math nerds. There's a very specific set of probabilities that the number of Xs you need exist. Just as an example, if you have 3 2's in your serial, and bid "5 2's", you need 2 more. For, say, a game of 4 players (3 others besides you) there's a 71% chance of 2 of any number existing among the other 2 players... Learn that "table" of probabilities, and you can play a pretty successful game of "bullying" someone into a bid that has a low chance of winning, or "bluffing" them into thinking either that it can win, or that yours can't. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liar's_poker has the rules and a discussion of some of the odds and such. Give the game a try some time...it's a hoot!
That's interesting! I was going to ask when was the last time anyone played or had seen Liar's Poker played and there you go posting an answer! The last time for me was back in the 1970's at a bar. Never seen it since.
