Hi everyone I was just wondering if you guys thought this would have any premium for the low serial # IC00000249B 2006 FRN, it's not in great shape, sorry for the blurry pics.

It might bring a small premium to fancy serial collectors. If it were in better shape the premium could have been higher to the right buyer.

That is an great find! I have never seen a serial number that low in any money that has gone through my hands. Premium or not, thats a keeper for sure!

That is an extraordinary low serial number, you don't come across those unless the sun, moon and stars are in perfect alignment. Nice find!

    I have a 2006 $5 ID00000250B. That'd be funny if that 'D' was a 'C'. I found it strap searching about a month ago.

I have IE00000111B, so I would have been amused if that D was an E. :)
I got many low-serial $1 2009 LI's from the same dealer a few months ago; maybe he still has L00000249I left.
(what's the right way to give you his info?)

The right way would be to PM whomever you want to give his info to. The real reason why I said I wished the 'D' was a 'C' is because if you pay attention, they would have been consecutive notes if that were the case. I am having a hard time understanding what the difference would be for his bill to have an 'E' or not... Does he sell these low serial number $1's at face or for how much extra? PM me please.

    @ tbudwiser:
Wanted to make sure I didn't cause any trouble by advertising that dealer here.
Okay then, I'll PM you and scrumhalf2 with the info.

It's been a couple months, so I'm not sure what he still has left, but I still figured it was worth mentioning.

The low serial LI's are CU, and cost a lot more than face.
    I got his #284 for $30, to go with a #284 $5 I already had.
His #111 was long gone by the time I found that #111 $5.

    @ tbudwiser, again
I get your point, that with a letter difference it could have been #249 and #250 in the same block. With another letter difference it could have been #111 and #249 in the same block - not as cool, but still cool IMHO

I found my first 3 digit serial # today. It is $20 2004A GB00000744A. I am not able to scan it so I will get a picture to put up as soon as I can.

This should be a keeper as long as its not in bad condition...

Not exactly the same number or denomination or country, but still....

This may be totally off subject, but I actually wanted to get into Canadian currency... Would you mind telling me what the 'B', 'F', and 'A' stand for? On another note, nice serial number! It is right around the same area as our serial numbers - mid 200's!

The lettered prefix doesn't stand for anything. It's changed at the end of the run and the new prefix isn't advertised. That is to say, it doesn't follow alphabetically. There are different
sequences for each of the denominations.

On modern Canadian currency, The prefix sequence encodes both denomination and series, I'm not sure how it works beyond that.
Please note that Canadian currency has seven digits in the serial instead of eight, but still cool.
