Beautiful find! I have some black or "Horn" silver and really enjoy the look. I stole this from another thread to answer your question: Found a description of black patina on fvrvm cited below: "Silver coins do not develop a patina. Silver darkens with age, which is referred to as toning. Thick black silver oxides, similar to patina, can develop in areas on a coin or cover it entirely. This is called horn silver. Horn silver is exceedingly difficult to remove and under the protruding oxide, the silver is severely damaged because the oxide is made up mostly of the silver of the coin." Here's an example of mine:
Bojan, I did a Google search on your coin type & found another example of this denarius sold by SPHINX on VCoins for $69. Their coin was 19 mm, & 3.36 gm. Your coin looks superior to theirs.
Bojan, Some beautiful portrait coins were struck at the Laodicea Mint for use in that regional area, & they had Greek inscriptions instead of Latin. Below is a handsome Tet I scored long ago, 14.37 gm, Prieur #1141.
