Have decided to sell our collection of old money. Not sure where the best place to go is, went to the local Road Show but they weren't interested in the paper money at all and only interested in the silver for weight value ($6.00 per 50 cent piece). Have $1000 bills from 1988, $100/50/20/10/5/2/1's from 1970/1980's, and some $1's from 1950's. Also 50 cent pieces from 1940/50/60's. We are centrally located between Kingston/Brockville/Cornwall/Ottawa. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

$6.00 for a silver half is about half the silver value. That means they're worth at least $12.00 each, and can be worth much more if they're rare dates or in outstanding condition. (If they're from the 40s-60s, though, that's pretty unlikely.)

Whoops -- you're in Canada. I know almost nothing about Canadian coinage, except that much of it is 80% silver instead of 90%, which reduces its silver value a bit. Is the paper money also Canadian?

The road show is almost your worst possible option. Please don't sell there!
