I'm having little success finding the following article: The First Roman Silver Coins, Andrew Burnett, Quaderni Ticinesis (QT) Lugano, 1978 I have some questions about the content and I'm not even sure this article has the material I'm looking for (information on ancient plated didrachms). If you have this in your library, I would appreciate a PM.
It appears to be orderable as a back issue (1978, vol. VII) for 90 Swiss Francs: http://www.quaderniticinesi.ch/order/ I don't know if it's online anywhere. ATB, Aidan.
Aidan, Thanks for your reply. I had not seen this in my search and I appreciate this. I'm still hoping to engage in a Q & A with someone who has this to determine if it is something I want to spend this much on. I believe it is only about 21 pages of a larger volume containing other articles which may or may not be of interest to me.

Have no experience with this volume.. but a silly story on my quest to actually read another offering by Andrew Burnett.. his "Coinage in the Roman World" from 2004... a book of only 164 pages. When I first started collecting, someone recommended the book as an introduction (perhaps someone here?). I purchased a used copy for around $15 and was thoroughly enjoying it (he is a very engaging writer)... maybe three chapters in.. An elderly uncle came to visit me from Vancouver for a few days and showed great enthusiasm for the LRBs I owned at the time. As he was leaving I wrote him a note inside the book's cover and gave him the copy along with a few coins. Took me a few months to find another reasonably priced copy... which I promptly left in a hotel room while on a business trip in Pittsburgh. 3rd time lucky? Sort of a challenge now - I just have to finish this thing and keep a copy in my little library. Bit of a pity the author won't get paid three times...
