Seeking info on the Production of the 1960 D/D Smdate/LgDate DDO cent

The PCGS site has it marked as 1960-D/D Small/Large Date (#82867)
with the info of N/A for the number struck . If you have looked for them, the
pricing is as for most DDO, much higher than the normal . I have heard from 2 people in Colorado who claim they were ( or knew mint workers) who said only from 800-3000 of the cents were "escapees" and the rest destroyed. I have collected several of these,
many , now encased by PCGS and NCG and ICG over the years. If anyone knows any other information, I would be happy to get it, as I have a little too many according to my conscience I have never been in Colorado other than a single Science meeting !!!!
