I know that the Rupees are 50% silver. Not finding much info on the others, or what all of them are worth more or less. The odd-shaped coins are dated 1936 & 1919 ..Thanks .. Dave
The three Indian coins are indeed 50% silver, the other coins are all copper-nickel. The "1 franc" coins are from Morocco. Probably 1921 but there are different mint marks.
Thanks .... I have not found any differences between the 1 franc coins. I wonder where a mintmark would be?
If they are from the Paris mint, there will be no marks, but the poissy mint issues have a lightning bolt below the denomination: http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&h...tart=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0&tx=50&ty=81 Value is the same for either one in circulated condition.
Ok, so going by that they were minted in Paris, but my absolute non-existant ability to read French won't tell me what they might be worth. I guess I would like to give the seller a fair price for them without paying too much of course. I saw one on EBay with a starting price of $24.95 .. but there were not any others selling to compare that to.
Well, in uncirculated condition with at least some luster they generally go for $30 to $40 as a raw coin (sometimes higher for a nice BU). An average circulated coin is worth $2-$3. With eBay, you want to look at completed items and verify with multiple consistent results. People can ask whatever price they want, and once in a while one may sell for that asking price. But, that doesn't mean much for what you can expect if you want it to sell the first time around.
I just sold some Moroccan coins like that on eBay and got about a dollar for them. You should be able to find them for about the same. Don't get into a bidding war and pay too much.
