As always I participate in the annual Coin Talk Secret Santa. I received my gift over a week ago and it is waiting patiently under the tree for me to open it.

So, I was quite surprised to find this in the mail box this morning. Someone has been paying attention to my posts. I actually like these better than Conder tokens. Thank you to whoever the generous member is out there. I truly appreciate your generosity.

They are certainly more legtimate than the Condor tokens. People actually used them, and government officals were very upset by them. The trouble is, the government can't declare something to be illegal, if the government is not issuing anything to replace it.

Here are a couple more privately issued silver pieces from the same period.
