Let's see there were 15 years that the US Seated Dime was struck in New Orleans . Here's one that's been around the block a few times. Any guesses as to its date? 5 different Varieties spanning from 1838-1891 1 Seated Dime obv.jpg 1 Seated Dime obv (2).jpg 1 seated dime rev..jpg 1 seated dime mm.jpg

Coin Forensics at it's best..... not much to work with here or is there? Any players? :)

the best you can do is try to see if there are any stars on the obv, to narrow it down a bit.

other than that, it's a lost cause...

    I I have it narrowed to 1860 or 1891.

I am seeing the same thing you are in the images, the dia. Is 18 mm . You need to figure out what the date is.....I already know :)

    Seated guy here.

First of all, there is no trace of a date.

If the MM is below the wreath, there can only be two choices: 1860 (key date) and 1891. As much as I want to congratulate you and say 1860, I have to say the mintmark is too large and in the wrong position.

    So 1891 it is.

Correct :) 1891 O it's the only date it possibly could be.

And actually it was an easy task...as the ribbons and the O mm were a sure give away.
